Habitat for the Future is a group of people who care about nature and want to protect it. We are a community-powered conservation movement, which means we work together with everyday people, like you, to look after the planet.
We know that forests, rivers, oceans, grasslands, and all kinds of natural places are being damaged or destroyed. When this happens, animals lose their homes, plants die out, and our climate problems get worse. Habitat for the Future exists to help stop this and to repair what we still can.
Our mission is clear: protect and restore natural habitats while there is still time. We are starting in Australia, focusing on important areas that need help right now. As we grow, Habitat for the Future plans to protect more habitats in other parts of the world too.

The mission of Habitat for the Future is to protect real pieces of land and help nature stay strong and healthy. We want to make it easy for people to help, without making things confusing or full of red tape.
Our vision is a future where:
- Important habitats are protected before they are cleared/re-cleared or built on
- Damaged land is healed and brought back to life
- Animals have safe places to live, eat, and raise their young
- People understand how much we all depend on nature
- Education on Net Zero (Australian Government) and the New Net Zero
We believe that if many people each do something small, together we can create big change. That is what Habitat for the Future is all about.
How Your Support Protects Habitat
Every time you support Habitat for the Future, you help protect real land.
Every $1.50 we receive goes towards buying 1 square metre (1m²) of habitat land. That means your support helps protect real ground, with real soil, trees, plants, and animals.
That 1m² of habitat can:
- Give endangered and threatened animals a place to live
- Help more kinds of plants and animals survive in one area (this is called biodiversity)
- Store carbon in trees and soil, which helps fight climate change
- Keep natural places safe from being cleared or turned into something else
